Hospital Universitari Vall d'Hebron is ranked second among the  Spanish Hospitals by the impact factor of their publications in the biomedical area. The activity developed during the last years at the Hospital's Research Institute has been instrumental in this achievement. One of the main features of this research is the tight connection with the clinical activities of the different departments at the Hospital. Working together, this team-force tries to solve questions related to the diagnosis, prognosis or therapeutics of different diseases. Our activity is then well defined as translational research, considering the two-way transfer between work at the laboratory bench and patient care.
