Our goal is to develop diagnostic methodologies that may help us to characterize the functional signification of coronary lesions and their impact on myocardium.

To enhance survival and life quality in patients with valvulopathies and aortic diseases through the definition and implementation of protocols study and treatment based on the knowledge of the natural history of the diseases.

To establish clinical protocols allowing treatment optimization based on the etiologic and physiopathologic features of the pericardic disease or in the case of hypertrophic myocardiopathies by careful evaluation of the natural history of the disease. Our thought is that classify patients into subgroups will help to apply successfully new available therapeutic choices.

Syncope Unit has contributed specially, both in original reports as well as in cooperative studies, to establish the characteristics, applicability and limitations of procedures frequently used in the diagnosis of the syncope of unknown etiology, specially the table testing and Holter.

Echocardiography and other imaging techniques (new tools, myocardial characterization, use of echocontrast, MNR, CT, molecular imaging and drugs release using microblisters). Isotopic studies (3D analysis of coronariography and myocardial perfusion data, and myocardial characterization with PET).
