Aims

We started our experimental programs in the 90’s with special focus on congenital diaphragmatic hernia research and setting up different fetoscopy Techniques. This effort led to their clinical application within the Fetal Surgery Program that the Vall d’Hebron Hospital currently offers. Other research programs followed those dealing with congenital malformation that may benefit from prenatal treatment such as Cleft lip-palate deformities, Amniotic band syndrome and spina bifida. Our goal is to study different aspects of congenital malformations, including ethiopathology, clinical course, physiopathology and diagnosis and treatment in pre and postnatal periods.
