PROTEOMIC RESEARCH GROUP

tornar

Aims

The Protemics Laboratory has a dual role: as a core facilty, integrated in the spanish network PROTEORED, its objective is to provide Oncology Program, IR-HUVH, and other center's research groups, with a platform to perform proteomic studies using state-of-the-art technologies. In parallel, the laboratory conducts its own research projects, with the aim of keeping constantly up to date with new proteomic developments.

Research Areas

«Identification and characterization of the degradome of metaloproteases involved in tumoral progression».proteomica_fig.jpg
Coordinator: Francesc Canals Suris.

The objective is the search and characterization by means of proteomic techniques of the substrate repertoire (degradome) of the metaloproteases ADAM17 and ADAMTS1, in order to study their role in tumoral progression and evaluate its potential utility as therapeutic targets. In collaboration with Drs. J. Arribas i J.C. Rodríguez-Manzaneque (Medical Oncology Research Program).

«New strategies of proteome analysis based on specific selection of N-terminal peptides».
Coordinator: Francesc Canals Suris.

The objective is the development of new strategies based on chemical derivatization, that allow the specific isolation and analysis of the N-terminal peptides of the proteins of a complex proteome. The aim is reaching a greater coverage of the proteins present, as well as information on its N-terminal end.
