Dr. Josep Baselga Torres was appointed in 1996 director of the Division of Medical Oncology at Vall d´Hebron Universitary Hospital. Since then he coordinates the Clinical Research activities at the departments of Hematology, Oncology and Radiotherapy.  Dr. Joaquin Arribas Lopez joined the Division in 1997 to head a laboratory of Fundamental Research.  The merge of these two interests, basic science and clinical research gave rise to the Medical Oncology Research Program. Dr. Arribas is the Director of the Program, which was awarded with a distinction from the Health Department of the Generalitat de Cataluya in 2003. Currently the Program is organized in two main areas.
